We Have a Pope

I know this post is coming a little late, but I just got home from Tennessee.      As we all know, Pope Francis passed away a couple weeks ago. A few days ago, his successor was chosen     Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was chosen as the next Pope on the second day of the papal conclave. He took the name of Leo XIV.      Leo is the first American Pope, born in Chicago. He is 69 years old, and is a White Sox fan.      I do not know a ton about our new Pope, so I'll let Vatican News do most of the talking: Biography of Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost - Vatican News     Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV, for his sanctification, and that he will lead the Church where it needs to go.

Pope Francis Dies on Easter Monday

Yesterday, Pope Francis passed away. He had been dealing with health issues for a while now, and finally passed out of this world on Easter Monday, at the age of 88. O God, faithful rewarder of souls, grant that your departed servant Pope Francis, whom you made successor of Peter and shepherd of your Church, may happily enjoy for ever in your presence in heaven the mysteries of your grace and compassion, which he faithfully ministered on earth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.          Let us also pray for a strong leader of the Church in a time when we so desperately need one.     O God, Eternal Shepherd, Who govern Your flock with unfailing care, Grant in Your boundless fatherly love a pastor for Your Church who will please You by His holiness and to us show watchful care. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns wi...

Good Friday

Image
Today is Good Friday, the second day of the Triduum. It is today that Christ hangs upon the Cross for us, taking upon His shoulders the weight of every sin created by man.     He chose this. Jesus chose to suffer such horrible torments such as bitter scourging, humiliation, and the most shameful and horrible execution the Romans could come up with. And this is why He did it; out of a pure and perfect love for us.     It's this time of the year where we realize that we can let go of past sins brought to Him in confession; He gave us the grace to be able to let go.      Jesus gave us His Body in the Eucharist yesterday; today He gives us His Body on the Cross. He did everything for us. What are we going to do for Him?

Monthly Prayer Board for March

Now that we've entered a new month, I want to integrate a prayer board for March. It will be on the side bar, and all you need to do is comment any prayer intentions you may have, and we will pray for you and your intentions.      I have been wanting to put this up on Servants of Christ  for a while now, so I'm glad I'm finally getting down to it. Have a great weekend, and God bless!

Please Pray for the Pope!

A number of days ago, Pope Francis was hospitalized due to a respiratory infection. The Pope, who is 88 years of age, has spent three nights in the hospital. Thankfully, the Vatican says he is in stable condition, but nevertheless, let us pray for our Vicar of Christ on earth. “O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful, look favorably on your servant Francis, whom you have set at the head of your Church as her shepherd; Grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.”

Welcome to the Blog

A couple days ago I added two friends to the blog, and last night another one joined. Welcome to the blog Amelia (AMELIA)! She is the sister of Brennan and Landen. Now we're up to seven members on the blog, and maybe we'll post just a little bit more.     Have a wonderful rest of the week, and God bless!

Two Members Added

In my endeavor to recruit as many of my Catholic friends as possible into the blog, my friend Landen (Iceman) has been added today. Landen is the brother of blog member Brennan (The_Captain).      Also added to the blog is my friend Santiago (Seager for the Win). We've played baseball together and he attends the Latin Mass at Mater Dei.     Welcome to the blog y'all! Thank you for your contributions of knowledge of the Church to our endeavors.
