Pope Francis Dies on Easter Monday

      Yesterday, Pope Francis passed away. He had been dealing with health issues for a while now, and finally passed out of this world on Easter Monday, at the age of 88. O God, faithful rewarder of souls, grant that your departed servant Pope Francis, whom you made successor of Peter and shepherd of your Church, may happily enjoy for ever in your presence in heaven the mysteries of your grace and compassion, which he faithfully ministered on earth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.          Let us also pray for a strong leader of the Church in a time when we so desperately need one.     O God, Eternal Shepherd, Who govern Your flock with unfailing care, Grant in Your boundless fatherly love a pastor for Your Church who will please You by His holiness and to us show watchful care. Good Friday

      Today is Good Friday, the second day of the Triduum. It is today that Christ hangs upon the Cross for us, taking upon His shoulders the weight of every sin created by man.     He chose this. Jesus chose to suffer such horrible torments such as bitter scourging, humiliation, and the most shameful and horrible execution the Romans could come up with. And this is why He did it; out of a pure and perfect love for us.     It's this time of the year where we realize that we can let go of past sins brought to Him in confession; He gave us the grace to be able to let go.      Jesus gave us His Body in the Eucharist yesterday; today He gives us His Body on the Cross. He did everything for us. What are we going to do for Him?
