On the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary

     When meditating upon the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, it is easy to become caught up in the abuses inflicted upon Our Lord during His Passion. And while anger towards the offenders is a natural and appropriate response to this, it is important to remember the words of Our Lord as He hung upon His Cross: 'Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.' Let us instead meditate upon the love that God has for us, to humble Himself by taking on our human nature and suffer what we suffer and more; not just the hunger and the thirst, the heat and the cold that we experience, but He shows us a love like no other when God Himself is hung from a cross for each and every one of us. Keep in mind that for the Divine, even the smallest suffering would have been sufficient to redeem mankind.
