Incense

 Interesting biblical verse promoting the use of incense:

 In the Revelation of John, incense symbolizes the prayers of the saints in heaven – the "golden bowl full of incense" are "the prayers of the saints" (Revelation 5:8, cf. Revelation 8:3) which infuse upwards towards the altar of God.


I'm the head incenser at my church, so I thought this was cool.

    You know Charlie, this is a really good first post. I personally love incense, and so does my pastor, who likes the people in the nave to be unable to see the altar after Mass (although I haven't been able to get that effect just yet). Incense is also good because demons really don't like it. I do like the book of Revelation, because it shows us how we need to prepare, not just for the end of the world, but for the end of our personal lives. Good job on this one, my friend.

      Sorry I'm a day late to those who read the blog. Yesterday was a little bit hectic, and then I forgot. But Christmas is much too important to leave out, so a day after the 25th will have to suffice.     Though we celebrated the day of the Lord's birth yesterday, we still celebrate Christmas today. According to the USCCB, the Christmas season ends on the Baptism of the Lord.  This year the Baptism will occur on the 12th of January, 2025. So we still have some Christmas left. Or if you want to be particularly traditional, you can celebrate Christmas all the way until Candlemas (February 2). I personally like to celebrate until Candlemas, but it's a matter of preference.     I was told by a priest that you can celebrate Christmas year-round. This doesn't refer to 'every day is Christmas' but rather, it means that you can (and should) celebrate the Lord's coming into the earth every day. The Sign of the Cross: What it is and How to Pray it

        Here's a short paragraph on The Sign of the Cross, what it means, and how to pray it.                      The Sign of the Cross is a short prayer; typically used as an opening and closing prayer, but it can be used at any time. The prayer is said like this: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen", as you say this, touch your right hand to your forehead, then your chest, and then your right and left shoulders. So, your would say "In the name of the Father,"(touch your forehead) "and of the Son,"(touch your chest) "and of the Holy Spirit"(touch your right and left shoulders).
